How to Use

Simmer 1 g powder with milk, pepper and jaggery for a classic “haldi dudu” bedtime drink.

Add 0.8 % to sambar or rasam spice blends; fine grind disperses without grit.

Blend 2 g with honey and ginger for a quick throat-soothing paste.

Use 0.5 % in pickle masala: natural colour and gentle heat enhance brine stability.

Mix 1 g into pancake or waffle batter for a subtle golden hue and earthy flavour.

Key Benefits

How is Arisina Pudi different from Lakadong “high-curcumin” turmeric?

Arisina Pudi is the everyday culinary turmeric of Karnataka, with curcumin around 3–4 %. Lakadong can reach 7 % or more. That makes Lakadong useful for supplements, but Arisina Pudi offers the familiar warm flavour most cooks expect and costs less. A teaspoon in sambar or veggies gives colour, light peppery notes and about 60 mg curcumin—plenty for routine cooking.

Claim strength: Moderate.

Claim-strength scale – High = multiple human studies; Moderate = a few trials; Emerging = early lab data.

What is the simplest way to take Arisina Pudi as a home remedy?

Many families stir half a teaspoon into hot milk with a pinch of black pepper and drink it before bed. Pepper’s piperine helps the body absorb turmeric compounds, and the warm spice can feel soothing on the throat.

Claim strength: High.

Does cooking destroy turmeric’s benefits?

Curcumin is heat-stable up to about 180 °C. Typical simmering or baking keeps most of it intact. Adding a fat (ghee, oil) improves absorption.

Claim strength: High.

Can Arisina Pudi help with everyday inflammation?

Studies using 1–3 g kitchen turmeric daily (roughly 100 mg curcumin) report mild improvements in joint comfort and digestive calm over 6–8 weeks. It is not a medicine but can complement a balanced diet.

Claim strength: Moderate.

Are there safety limits I should know?

At normal culinary levels (up to 3 g powder per day) turmeric is considered safe. Very high intakes may upset sensitive stomachs. People on blood thinners should consult a healthcare professional before heavy supplementation.

Claim strength: High.

Does turmeric stain less in powder form than fresh root?

Powder disperses evenly, so you need only small amounts. It will still stain porous surfaces, but fine milling means less undissolved pigment clinging to utensils. Clean with lemon juice or mild bleach if staining occurs.

Claim strength: Emerging.
